                          INDIGENT SUPPORT GRANT APPLICATIONS

Notice is hereby given that the Indigent Support Subsidy granted to all registered needy service consumers expires on 30th June 2022.

However, if you are already registered as a Compassionate Case, you must reapply for the 2022-2023 financial year. The closing date for the Compassionate Aid Grants Application process is 20 June 2022. No late applications will be able to be submitted after the closing date. Applicants can also enter into agreements for the payment of arrears.

NOTE: Applicants must ensure that they submit all the documents, as no incomplete or missing information will be submitted for the approval of the award. Also note that a local audit (verification process) will be held to make sure the information submitted was correct. Verification of Sassa grants will be verified at the Department of Social Development (Sassa) and unemployment will be verified at the Department of Labor (UIF), so we request applicants to be honest when applying for these grants.

CRITERIA FOR NEEDY HOUSEHOLDS

To qualify as a Needy Income Household, a household must meet it with the following criteria:

a) For a needy subsidy, the verified gross household monthly income may not exceed the sum of three times the amount of state-funded social grant or up to a maximum of R6030 per month; and child support and foster care grants form part of the household income.

b) The registered indemnity must be the full-time occupant of the property in question.

c) Owners may only qualify for one property / household.

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST ACCOMPANY THE APPLICATION:

• Valid South African ID. book / birth certificates / ID books of children older than 18 years (of all persons on the property)

• Latest municipal services account (+ prepaid meter number / slip / card)

Proof of income if employed (salary slip), or 3 months bank statement of all the persons working (permanently or temporarily) on the property

• Pension / disability slip

• Affidavit if unemployed of all persons unemployed on the property

• Death certificate if the owner (s) of the property has died

                        ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE CERTIFIED
