Geagte Inwoners,

Soos ons die Feesseisoen van 2025 betree en die Nuwe Jaar van 2026 nader, wil ons van hierdie geleentheid gebruik maak om u en u geliefdes 'n vreugdevolle en veilige vakansieseisoen toe te wens. Ons is bewus daarvan dat baie van u na u bestemmings sal reis en in die nuwe jaar sal terugkeer werk toe. Neem asseblief kennis dat u veilig en verantwoordelik moet reis.

In die lig van die komende vakansiedae, wil ons alle inwoners van die Informele Nedersettings binne die Cederberg Munisipaliteit herinner aan die volgende belangrike kennisgewing:

VERBOD OP NUWE STRUKTURE EN UITBREIDINGS

Cederberg Munisipaliteit gee hiermee kennis dat GEEN NUWE STRUKTURE EN GEEN UITBREIDINGS AAN BESTAANDE STRUKTURE TOEGELAAT SAL WORD IN DIE INFORMELE NEDERSETTINGS IN DIE VOLGENDE GEBIEDE NIE:

- Lambertsbaai:         Kompong

- Elandsbaai:             New Rest

Die munisipaliteit verbied streng die oprigting van strukture in hierdie gebiede sonder behoorlike magtiging. Enige persoon wat hierdie kennisgewing oortree, kan vervolg word.

OORTREDINGS EN STRAF

• Enige persoon wat 'n ander persoon aanhits of help om grond onwettig te beset, is skuldig aan 'n oortreding.
• Enige persoon wat betaling ontvang of vra vir die reëling of organisering van die besetting van grond sonder die skriftelike toestemming van die Munisipale Bestuurder of persoon in beheer van daardie grond, is skuldig aan 'n oortreding.
• Enige persoon wat munisipale amptenare, wetstoepassing of ander amptenare in die uitvoering van hul pligte hinder of belemmer, is skuldig aan 'n oortreding.

Indien u bewus word van enige ongemagtigde strukture wat opgerig word, rapporteer dit asseblief onmiddellik aan die Behuisings-/Wetstoepassingseenheid.

FESTIVE SEASON NOTICE: PROHIBITION ON NEW STRUCTURES IN INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS

Dear Residents

As we enter the Festive Season of 2025 and approach the New Year of 2026, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a joyous and safe holiday season. We are aware that many of you will be traveling to your destinations and returning to work in the new year. Please be advised to travel safely and responsibly.

Considering the upcoming holidays, we would like to remind all residents of the Informal Settlements within the Cederberg Municipality of the following important notice:

PROHIBITION ON NEW STRUCTURES AND EXTENSIONS

Cederberg Municipality hereby gives notice that:

NO NEW STRUCTURES AND NO EXTENSIONS TO EXISTING STRUCTURES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

- Citrusdal:         Riverview

- Clanwilliam:     Khayelitsha

- Lamberts Bay: Compound

- Elands Bay:      New Rest

The municipality strictly forbids the erection of structures in these areas without proper authorization. Any person found to be in contravention of this notice may face prosecution.

OFFENCES AND PENALTIES

• Any person who incites or assists another person to occupy land unlawfully shall be guilty of an offence.
• Any person who receives or solicits payment for arranging or organizing the occupation of land without the written consent of the Municipal Manager or person in charge of that land shall be guilty of an offence.
• Any person who hinders or obstructs municipal officials, law enforcement, or other officials in the execution of their duties shall be guilty of an offence.

REPORTING

If you become aware of any unauthorized structures being erected, please report them to the Housing/Law Enforcement Unit immediately.
