Introduction

Cederberg Municipality provides services to all communities in the five primary towns of Citrusdal, Clanwilliam, Lamberts Bay, Graafwater, Elands Bay and in the Rural areas. Services focus on mandates described in Acts defining the existence of local municipalities and, amongst others, include Sewerage, Water, Waste Removal, Electricity, Housing Infrastructures, Law Enforcement, Town Planning, Communication, Public Relations, Local Economic Development (LED), Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and the Annual Budget. The municipality provides services through a functional personnel structure, an effective and competent corporate function and decentralised town offices; which take service delivery and public inputs to grassroots levels. Town offices provide administrative support to Ward Committees and their unique form of public engagement in the local governance of Cederberg.
